The Influence of the French
Revolution on France
The French Revolution had a great influence
on France. It ended absolute rule in France. It gave rise to two important
ideas: liberalism and nationalism.
Liberalism is a belief that all people are free and equal by birth, and
that all people should have freedom of speech, of the press and of religion.
Nationalism is a belief that people's loyalty is to the state, not to any
ruler, and that all people should have the right to self-government. The
two ideas spread all over France as a result of the French Revolution.
